Pic unrelated.
Now it’s been one year and three days since I started this blog ranting about OreImo 2 (I’m a little late with this post,) and two and a half years since I started blogging in general. Within that year I’ve published 95 posts of varying length, garnered something of a readership, and made some more connections online. I’m also finally old enough to buy porn at conventions. Real life continues to get better and less angsty for me too, so all things considering, it’s been a pretty swell year.
Getting back to aniblogging, a plurality of my posts from the past year have been episodic posts for Monogatari Series: Second Season, World Conquest Zvezda Plot, No Game No Life, and Black Bullet. The only one of those I actually blogged about to end was Monogatari Series, but I still had a lot of fun writing about the others! Even with Black Bullet, although it might seem otherwise. Of these 95 posts the one I’m the most proud of though would be On Fanservice. You know, since it’s the post I’ve put the most work into.
Now looking towards the future, it’s difficult to say just how long I’ll keep blogging. I do want to make a living as an animator or comic artist, so it’s doubtful I’ll ever lose interest in anime or stop having things to say about the medium. But then it’s also because of that career choice that I’m only bound to have less and less time to write about cartoons as time goes on. But even then I find it hard to imagine that I’ll ever completely stop writing about cartoons, though like I said, it’s hard to say for sure.
But all that’s not worth dwelling about until next summer, I just figure it’s worth mentioning. It’s good for me to keep in mind though so I think about what I really want to say about anime before I possibly call it quits. Either way, Anime Is Dead still has at least another year ahead of it, and until then I hope I can continue to write quality posts for my readers. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this blog so far!
You and your animating and comic creating future can wait!…No, honest! I’m serious!!!
(Congrats btw)
Nah, better that I draw and study art as much as I can while I’m still young. Though really it’s also my recent Japanese studies that are really eating away from my aniblogging too w
(Thanks)
You already know I’m a fan of yours so I’ll always be nearby. Here’s hoping you can keep on going longer than a year but if next Summer ends up being your last season then it’s cool. It’ll be sad not seeing one of the few female anibloggers who ONLY berates fanservice when it goes too far but your future is far more important.
What I’m trying to say is I’ll be cheering you on both on and offline.
But hey, at least when I’m not defending or championing fanservice on this blog, I’ll be working on my own stories full of fanservice! That’s the goal, anyways.
And thanks! Good to have you as a reader and internet friend.
